You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be.
[ Locked to
eamesofdreams. Futility!Verse. ]
[ The train pulls to a stop, masses of people pushing to the exists with bags and cases, and because this is new territory to Arthur he waits for Eames to step out first before he follows, but sticking close so that he doesn’t lose him in the rush.
They walk a fair distance in a comfortable silence as they head towards their booked hotel, Arthur taking in the scenery around them in the hope of remembering it for later, the maps he’s saved to the laptop not quite the same as actually being there.
The suitcase in hand starting to feel as if there’s a ton of bricks hidden inside, and the bag thrown over his shoulder digging in to the flesh beneath the thin t-shirt he’s wearing, Arthur finally breaks the silence. ] Are you sure we’re going the right way? The hotel didn’t seem this far away on the map. [ He stops himself from saying anything further, though, having promised himself that it’s logical for Eames to take the lead on this one since he’s the only one who’s been here before. ] Just tell me we’re nearly there before I die from the heat.

[ He sounds gleeful, giddy in a way he hasn't been in a while, like the shadows of the house have been left there. He can't quite stop grinning. ] Thank you for coming out here though, love. A dirty weekend away wouldn't have been the same without you.

[ Now that he's paying more attention to Eames and not focusing on where they are and where they're going, Arthur can easily see the changes in him, how uplifted he seems from the last few weeks, something close to what he was like before, and it suddenly dawns on him just how much he's missed him. ] As if I was ever gonna let anyone have the opportunity to put their hands all over you. That's my job, and you know how seriously I take my work.

Battering his eyelashes. ] Or I can show off my muscles and win you a teddy-bear.

[ He laughs as he eyes the building up, turning to smile at Eames with a mixture of relief and undeniable happiness. ] I have a teddy-bear, but you should show them off anyway, you know how much it impresses me. [ Taking the lead, he pulls Eames along to the entrance and through the glass doors, stopping only when they get to the reception desk. Lowering his voice to a whisper while the woman busies herself with the phone. ] What name we using, by the way?

He nudges Eames. ] Drink first, activities later. Come on. [ The lift doors slide open as they walk over to them and he waits until Eames is on board to follow. ]

Y'all right, love?

With a crafty little smile. ] Let me think about that. I'm on a weekend break in England, the weather's better than it's been since we landed here, and there's a relatively attractive man with my name on him that's got me on the promise of a Ferris Wheel ride. Yeah, I think I'm all right. There is something that'd make it that much better, though. [ He steps in close, lips brushing along Eames' for a short moment before he leans in and kisses him soft and slow, smiling as he pulls away. ]

You're going to behave and relax, right? I think it's a demand of mine. That and possibly cocktails.

[ A mechanical voice announces that they've arrived at their floor and the doors slide open to a bing sound. He pecks Eames on the lips and makes a grab for the cases, walking out into the corridor and examining the numbers on the doors, the room swipe key in hand. ]

He's fairly certain Arthur knows he's staring at his arse the entire time he falls behind, humming a soft pop song under his breath. ] At least the view's nice.

[ He drops everything at their room door, sliding the card through the lock, and smiling as it clicks open, pushing the door open. ] Ladies first. [ He checks out the door to the fire escape from the distance, the emergency plans forming immediately on the off-chance they'll need them, but it's obvious he's satisfied. ] The sooner we leave these things behind, the sooner we can get on with this thing called relaxing.

You like?

[ Luggage quickly abandoned, Arthur takes a running jump towards the bed and flops down on his back, grinning over at Eames. ] Christ, Eames, get your ass over here and try this out. [ He bounces himself up and down on the mattress, the springs unnaturally quiet, but unyielding. ] At least we know where to move if we feel the urge.

[ Curling into his side and walking two fingers across Arthur's stomach. ] Not that I'd mind at all.
no subject
[ Smirking, he watches the fingers walk up him, twitching a little the light touch crosses over a sensitive area, and he still wants to try to keep the fact that he's a little ticklish to himself. ] I'm more surprised that you're not suggesting we just set up camp here until it's time to go home.
no subject
[ Shifting closer to nuzzle at his neck. ] But I suppose then I wouldn't get you on a half a dozen rides, or help you pick out ridiculous postcards you can send the Cobblets when we're safe.
no subject
[ He offers Eames better access on instinct, an arm forcing itself beneath his back and pulling him close. ] Shit, do you even realise how much I'm rubbing off on you? I don't know if I should be proud or terrified you'll steal my rep as the best point. [ He mumbles quickly. ] Sherlock needs a postcard, too, don't forget Sherlock.

[ He pushes the thought aside, something he's grown good at over the years, but since Eames somehow managed to lower all of his walls it's not as easy as it used to be, and sometimes, sometimes, he wonders if that might be as bad as it is good, especially with the threat hovering over them still. He rolls over and pushes himself up onto his hands, holding himself above Eames.] I'm fine, Eames, stop worrying. That's my job, remember? But we should get up otherwise we never will.

Drawing a hand up to cup Arthur's cheek, he gives him a sneaky little smirk. ] Who says we have to get up?
no subject
He turns to kiss the palm of Eames' hand, bringing his own up to hold it there a moment longer. ] What happened to the plan of going out and doing everything, gaining the full Blackpool experience? [ Straddling Eames' thighs, he lowers himself to rest his cheek to his chest, smiling as he hears the thrum of his heart. ] But if you really want to...

He genuinely begins to consider their options, but when he thinks about the idea of moving, of leaving this warmth behind despite the temperature, he finds it hard to come up with an argument in favour of it. ] Hmm, it wouldn't hurt to stay here for a while and relax. Besides, it's still early, and we can do something for lunch to make up for it.

Instead of answering, he leans up just a little to capture Arthur's mouth with his own, teasing lips open with sharp teeth and his wicked, wicked tongue. It's a slow, burning press of his mouth, kissing just for the sake of it, saying hello with hushed breath and the playful nip along his lower lip. ] Missed you.
no subject
He rests their foreheads together after, eyes searching, smiling, and lips brushing against Eames' as he speaks. ] Never leave me again, okay? I miss seeing you smile like this.

[ He captures Eames' lower lip between his teeth, tongue flicking out against it, and when he releases it he leans in and covers his mouth with his own, kissing him soft and slow, but soon deepening it, hands exploring beneath the hem of his shirt. ]

He can't help but enjoy this again, having Arthur back in his arms, far away from the drama of their temporary home. ]
